Moya Brand Sapphire Kola Review
First Impressions of the Moya Brand Sapphire Kola
I really like the style that Moya has and the fit of their kimonos.
- 450 Gram Pearl Weave jacket (single weave)
- Blue w/ White Contrast Stitching
- EVA foam padded collar
- Blue Woven Patches
- Re enforced stitching on critical seams
The top has been constructed very well and is of top notch quality. All seams are good and all the patches are stitched on properly as well. Besides the slight wave in the collars stitching there were no other loose threads or popped stitches around the jacket that I could find. I am very pleased with the quality of the jacket.
- 12 Oz Cotton Twill Pants for daily training
- 32 Thread Count Drawcord
- 4 Total Belt Loops on Pants
- Woven Patches
- Custom Seam tape
The pants are made super well, as with every Moya Brand gi i’ve gotten has been. The only problem I really have with their pants besides the scratchy tag on the back are the belt loops. From the first Bluedial I had the belt loops were were sewn on too high and the rope rides up on your skin. They said they would fix that problem and were indeed aware of it but a few models later they still have not fixed it.
A small problem but it is a little annoying until you get used to it. A little more annoying that they know about it but still have not fixed it even though consumers have complained about it.
How Does it Fit
I like the way the Moya fits, it’s not bunching or restrictive at all and fits my body well as you can see from the pictures. With a little shrinking it fits great
The Moya Brand Sapphire Kola is about the average price from most kimono brands right now at $170. Moderately priced all things considering. Their customer service has always been great for me and their gi’s have never disappointed. This gi is no exception and is the quality i’ve come to know from Moya Brand.
You can’t go wrong in purchasing one of their kimonos if you’re in the market for a daily training and/or comp gi. I’ve used them for comps and daily training gi’s with no problems what so ever. I still use my original bluedial kimono on the regular and besides a slightly faded color it’s still holding strong.
