Dallas Open…

The IBJJF Dallas Open has passed once again, only this time instead of being on Mothers Day it was in September just a few short weeks before the IBJJF No Gi Pans & World Championships. A few notable athletes used this as a warm up to the No Gi Worlds, but for many others it was just another tournament.

The highlights included Jack Sousa defeating James Puopolo by collar choke in the Mens Black Belt Absolute Finale, and Mackenzie Dern defeating Karen Antunes by a nasty foot lock. There were so many excellent matches going on it was hard to follow them all but it was a great time watching.

It was our first tournament at a new weight and new belt level. Results didn’t go our way but it was the experience that mattered the most.

We were able to get some shots of a few athletes we’ve been following, there were a ton more athletes we wanted to shoot but they were unavailable for most of the day due to reffing, coaching, and/or competing. We hope you enjoy the ones we did get to take.
